As you all know, the library now has a sizable collection of materials for borrowing. Some of you have already been making use of them. Others have come in just to say hi. If you haven't done so, well... what are you waiting for?

We really want people to come check out the library and all it has to offer: books, movies, CDs, etc. And we are always on the lookout for more materials; so if you have anything you would like to share with your neighbors, please let us know and we'll arrange to come get them.

It's the start of a crazy exciting time here at CastleBraid. Within weeks we'll be opening the woodshop, recording studio, fitness & movement facilities, library, and a program of classes, workshops, and meetup groups that are going to blow your mind.

We're also right on the verge of launching the top-secret project support system that we've been cooking up over the past few months. Without saying to much, we think it's going to put a whole new spin on fundraising for the arts. You'll be able to find collaborators, donors, and more.

We've been lucky enough to have many of CastleBraid's "artillery" of talented people directly involved in developing, documenting, building and beautifying our new community, and with that, we present our first regular blog feature. Every week, we'll be profiling selected members of our community to give you a little glimpse of these extraordinary individuals.

So - this week, we're pleased to present Khalil & Ruby Chishtee. Onwards!

Haiti Matters to Brooklyn @ CastleBraid

Since it's all over the news, I'm sure you've heard about the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti, leaving thousands dead, injured, or homeless.

I'd like to enlist any enthusiastic friends to help put together an impromptu fundraiser for the victims of the disaster this Sunday (during the day) at Castlebraid (114 Troutman between Central and Evergreen in Bushwick).
